Jessica Ridgeway Murder 17 Year Old Student, Austin Reed Sigg Charged With Abuduction
Jessica Ridgeway's suspected killer is a 17-year-old neighbor who authorities plan to try as an adult, officials in Colorado said Wednesday.
Formal charges against Austin Reed Sigg, a high school student who lived about one mile from the 10-year-old and her family, likely will be filed Monday, Jefferson County District Attorney Pam Russell said.Westminster police have arrested a 17-year-old boy related to the kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway.
Austin Reed Sigg was arrested Tuesday night at 7:45 after police received a tip that led them to a home near Ketner Lake Open Space, according to a news release from the Westminster Police Department.WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Westminster Police announced Wednesday they have arrested a 17-year-old in the abduction and murder of Jessica Ridgeway. A community college student has been arrested for the abduction, murder and dismemberment of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway, Colorado police said today.
Austin Reed Sigg, 17, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first degree murder, one count of second degree kidnapping and two counts of criminal attempts. Authorities expect he will be formally charged this week.Police in Colorado have arrested a 17-year-old community college student in connection with the killing of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway, who disappeared on her way to school Oct. 5.
Jessica's body, which was described by police as "not intact," was found five days later in a field in an area of abandoned mines in Arvada, Colo.
