LA Galaxy's MLS Cup Win Assures Seattle Sounders A Place In Group Stage Of 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League

The Los Angeles Galaxy won the Major League Soccer championship on Sunday night with a goal conjured by three of the league’s most high profile — and most highly paid — players, defeating the Houston Dynamo, 1-0, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
David Beckham thrust the shiny silver trophy above his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates' heads, and a sold-out stadium roared for its hometown team through a blizzard of confetti.

Although Beckham's five-year American odyssey hasn't always gone according to script, he clearly learned a little something about Hollywood endings along the way.

Landon Donovan scored in the 72nd minute on passes from Robbie Keane and Beckham, and the Galaxy's three superstars won their first MLS Cup together with a 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Sunday night.
The United States national team star Landon Donovan had the final touch on the goal in the 72nd minute, after an exchange of passes from the English midfielder David Beckham to the Irish striker Robbie Keane. The Galaxy had dominated play most of the

game against the Dynamo, who struggled to create chances without their injured playmaker Brad Davis and struggled to defend themselves from the constant pressure applied by Donovan, Keane and Beckham.According to MLSSoccer.com, the LA Galaxy's 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup final has assured the Seattle Sounders passage to the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League. If true, that will allow the Sounders to bypass the always tricky play-in round, saving them a trip to Central America and easing fixture congestion in what has been a pretty tricky part of the schedule these past two seasons. The automatic advancement to the group stage will also improve the Sounders CCL seeding, hopefully giving them a slightly easier path to the knockout phase next season.
