Baseball rocked as Seattle star Halman is stabbed to death and his brother arrested in Holland

The U.S. baseball player Gregory Halman has been stabbed to death in Rotterdam, Holland.


The Seattle Mariners outfielder, 24, died in the early hours of this morning, police and the player's family have confirmed.

A statement from Rotterdam police read: "Just after half past five, police received a report of a stabbing at a house in Jan Sonjestraat.
"Once there police found a badly injured victim. They worked with paramedics to try to resuscitate the victim but they could not manage it.Greg Halman: A police spokeswoman said the officers arrested Halman's 22-year-old brother. She declined to give his name, in line with Dutch privacy rules.
