ROUND 2 - Jones opens with a pair of leg kicks as "Rampage" rushes into the clinch. Jones just misses another spinning elbow. Jackson blocks a body kick and continues to press forward. Jones is bouncing on his heels as he circles away. Midway through the round and Jones is the aggressor. "Bones" launches a knee into the body of "Rampage," but the Pride veteran stalks forward. Jones paws a pair of jabs out before missing a head kick. Jackson leaps forward with a right hand but Jones slips it and backs away. "Rampage" seems tentative as Jones continues to guage the distance with his jab. Jones takes the fight to the ground and grasps for a triangle as the horn sounds.

The final fight of the night, and main event of UFC 135 is a light heavyweight championship bout, Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Jones (13-1) defends his title for the first time since becoming the youngest champion in UFC history by defeating Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 128. Across the cage, "Rampage" (32-8) aims to take back his belt after stringing together four wins in five fights since losing the title to Forrest Griffin in mid-2008. Referee Josh Rosenthal oversees the action.

ROUND 1 - Jones opens with a bizarre crouched stance before clinching with Jackson against the cage. "Rampage" reverses but Jones grabs his neck. "Bones" squares away, pushes Jackson back against the cage, and works with footstomps. Jones backs away and the two engage in the center of the Octagon. The champion clinches and tosses "Rampage" to the side. Jones is keeping his distance with a variety of kicks. One minute remains. Jackson presses forward but Jones chops him down with kicks to the lead leg. Jones pushes Jackson against the cage and releases with a big spinning elbow. "Bones" attacks, just missing a wheel kick before a brief exchange ends the round.
