The seconds melted away. Austin Rivers kept dribbling.
Mason Plumlee was under the rim, another among the nearly 22,000 people crammed inside the Dean E. Smith Center, as helpless as each and every one. Later, he'd admit it: He was a little worried. He trusted Austin. It's just that, well, those seconds were vanishing, and there Rivers was, dribbling them away. What if he missed? Would Plumlee have a chance to get a rebound? Last night in College Basketball felt like early glimpses of March Madness. The night got kicked off with #10 Kansas heading into Waco, Texas to play the #6 Baylor Bearcats. The next game had the #11 Georgetown Hoyas
invading the Carrier Dome to take on the #2 Syracuse Orangemen. The night cap, which was one to remember, was the instant classic between #9 Duke and #5 North Carolina. In each game, the winning teams had career nights from one of their players.
