Grammy nominations: West deserves shot with album

Why did Adele only get six Grammy nominations when rappers get seven or 10 every year? She was robbed!
—Mark, via the inbox

Just because "Rolling in the Deep" was, apparently, the only song released, ever, does not mean that the industry has "robbed" Adele, darling. In fact, I can prove that Adele got about as much Grammy love as she could possibly get...Kanye West probably smashed up his dressing room real good on Wednesday night.

For someone who typically throws a tantrum at the first sign of a perceived award-show slight, the temperamental rapper for once had legitimate reason to get bent out of shape while watching the live CBS concert announcing the nominees for the 54th annual Grammy Awards.

Even though he walked away with seven nods - more than any other artist - West's critically heralded "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" got snubbed in the big category: album of the year.
In this theater publicity image released by Boneau/Bryan-Brown, Andrew Rannells (c.) performs with an ensemble cast in "The Book of Mormon" at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York. The Broadway cast recordings of "The Book of Mormon," "Anything Goes" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" each earned Grammy nominations Wednesday night, an eclectic group of musicals that are still going strong.
