TOYOTA (Japan): Neymar showed why he is the most coveted player outside Europe as he lit up the Club World Cup with a sumptuous strike Wednesday to send Santos on their way to a likely final against Barcelona. All the talk before the semifinal clash against the host side Kashiwa Reysol had been about the 19-year-old forward, and he did not disappoint, scoring a sensational first goal as the Brazilians ran out 3-1 winners.
He will probably meet Barcelona and Lionel Messi in Sunday's final, though the European champions first need to dispose of the Qataris Al Sadd in the other semifinal on Thursday.
Neymar, the young Brazilian international who has been linked with almost every top club in Europe and compared to the Argentine Messi, was almost on the scoresheet after only five minutes, but his low shot bounced off a post.On 19 minutes he did score, and it was some strike.
He picked the ball up with his back to goal, dummied inside and from outside the box unleashed an unstoppable left-footed curling shot that nestled in the top corner of the net. Goalkeeper Takanori Sugeno had no chance.
Five minutes later the South American champions went two goals ahead when striker Borges, who has been in prolific form in the past year, got away from his marker and crashed the ball into the other corner of Sugeno's goal.

Chelsea 3-0 Valencia
Didier Drogba rolled back the years with two goals as Chelsea eased the pressure on manager Andre Villas-Boas with a 3-0 victory over Valencia that sees them qualify from Group E of the Champions League in top spot.
Drogba opened the scoring from close range after just three minutes to set them on their way, before Ramires capitalised on a moment of laziness from Victor Ruiz for the second midway through the first half.
Having been set free by a glorious through-ball from Juan Mata with 15 minutes remaining, the Ivorian made no mistake to wrap up a significant victory for the Blues, one that, coupled with Genk's draw with Bayer Leverkusen, saw them win Group E.Football: Andre Villas-Boas punched the air triumphantly at the final whistle. And with good reason.
This victory had been one of Chelsea’s best performances of what has thus far been a season marked by uneven and disjointed displays from a group of players widely acknowledged to be capable of so much more.

Viktoria Plzen 2-2 AC Milan: Gallant Fightback From Hosts Clinches Impressive Point After Pato
AC Milan defender Phillippe Mexes has stated that the Scudetto holders must learn from the mistakes they made against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League Group H clash on Tuesday, especially with Sunday's game against Bologna in mind.
Two quick-fire goals at the start of the second half from Alexandre Pato and Robinho gave Massimiliano Allegri's men what looked like an unassailable 2-0 lead, but strikes in the 89th and 93rd minutes from the hosts saw the spoils shared in a 2-2 draw.Viktoria Plzen claimed third place in Group H of the Champions League and a spot in the Europa League after securing a dramatic 2-2 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday night.
Late, late goals from David Bystron and Michal Duris cancelled out Alexandre Pato and Robinho's earlier strikes as the hosts completed a stunning late comeback in Prague.
With their progression already certain, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri took the opportunity to rest players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, but their makeshift defence was put to the test in the early stages as the hosts made an energetic start. But despite their hunger and drive, Viktoria Plzen struggled to find the necessary quality in the final third. The France international defender wants the Scudetto holders to take lessons from the 2-2 draw against the Czech side and avoid making the same errors against Bologna

Olympiakos 3-1 Arsenal: Gunners' Back-Up Goalkeepers Endure A Night To Forget But Hosts Miss Out On Knockout Stages
Greece - Olympiakos Piraeus went from ecstasy to utter despair after their 3-1 win over Arsenal looked to be sending them into the Champions League last 16 only for Olympique Marseille to pip the Greeks at the death.
Marseille's two late goals in a 3-2 victory at Borussia Dortmund in the other final Group F game meant Didier Deschamps' team qualified for February's first knockout round and Olympiakos had to settle for third place and the Europa League.Arsene Wenger tasted defeat in his 200th European game as Arsenal lost 3-1 to Olympiakos as goals from Rafik Djebbour, David Fuster and Francois Modesto secured all three points for the Greeks whilst Yossi Benayoun grabbed a consolation goal.A horror show from the Arsenal defence and the two replacement goalkeepers proved the difference tonight against an Olympiakos side who were driven on by their home crowd. The hosts took the lead when Djebbour was put behind the Gunners defence and knocked the ball past Lukasz Fabianski who rushed out of his net to try and stop the striker.
Fuster doubled Olympiakos’ lead in the 36th minute pouncing on a mistake by Arsenal sub keeper Vito Mannone as his volley evaded the feet of the Italian when he was well placed to catch the ball.
Benayoun got the visitors back into the game with a scorching volley after linking up well with Marouane Chamakh’s chest down to him on the edge of the 18-yard box which was the high point for a disappointing night for the Gunners.

Barcelona vs FC BATE Borisov Report
None of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta or several other big names from the first team were on the field, but tonight’s display from Barça was as brilliant as ever. The Catalans were simply too good for BATE Borisov in the final game of the group stages, a
victory that is yet another wonderful tribute to the amazing work being done by the
staff and players at la Masía, in which the Camp Nou was able to celebrate goals from Sergi Roberto, Montoya and Pedro (2). No fewer than nine members of Barça B played their part in a win by a side with an average age of just 22.7. They may only be youngsters, but there was nothing immature about the way they performed. As was made patent on Tuesday night, the future, or even the present, is bright at Barcelona.A goal each from Sergi Roberto, Martin Montoya, and a Pedro double saw Barcelona comfortably dispatch BATE Borisov with a 4-0 victory this evening in Champions League Group H.
The Catalan side had already qualified as group winners, and so opted to field a team with an average age of just 23 years-old against the Belarusian's, but the class of the European Champions shone throughout the match as they dominated possession and created several chances.Barcelona attacker Pedro has expressed his delight with the 4-0 Champions League Group H win over BATE Borisov at Camp Nou on Tuesday and had nothing but positive words for the youngsters who featured.

GeekBytes: Light Shows and New Planets
NASA announced Monday the discovery of Kepler-22b, the first planet the Kepler spacecraft has discovered in the habitable zone, an area with a distance from a star where temperatures will permit the existence of liquid water.
The discovery of Kepler-22b, which is 600 light-years away from Earth, brings scientists one step closer to finding a planet that could possibly harbor life.
"This is a major milestone on the road to finding Earth's twin," Douglas Hudgins, Kepler program scientist said in a statement. "Kepler's results continue to demonstrate the importance of NASA's science missions, which aim to answer some of the biggest questions about our place in the universe. It's Monday, which means GeekBytes is back for the new week. In today's wrap-up, we take a look at very pretty moving light show, an interesting coffee maker project and NASA's fascinating planet discovery.

Tim Tebow, faith and football? Do the two go together?
Two weeks ago, the New York Jets got beat by Tim Tebow. Now they're playing like him -- and that's OK. There's no reason to apologize, not in a business defined by results.
Tebow has captivated the sport with his polarizing style, a player with obvious flaws but knows when it's winning time. You can say the same thing about the Jets, who can overcome 55 minutes of ugly with five minutes of beautiful.Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos delivered again with a strong, determined finish after a slow start.
Tebow found his groove in the second half Sunday, and the Broncos' defense, which struggled for much of the game, provided a big play to match his late-game touch.Tim Tebow has been a hot topic on the sports channels, around dinner tables, at bars, and now that I’m a football fan, even in my own home. Sports commentators argue over his athletic ability on the field; players have even criticized his public stance of faith. All the while, Tim Tebow has stayed focused on playing to the best of his ability, leading his team to victory, and giving glory to God. Who does Tiger Woods think he is? Tim Tebow? With back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes, Woods engineered a comeback worthy of the Denver Broncos quarterback, who, himself, delivered another come-from-behind win for his team on the same NFL Sunday that Woods broke a two-plus-year winless drought.
"It feels awesome," Woods told Golf Channel about winning the limited-field Chevron World Challenge for his first victory in 27 events over a stretch of 749 days after starting the day one shot back of playing partner Zach Johnson.

Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal, 0-4: Full time analysis and player ratings
Arsenal eased past Wigan thanks to a great all round performance from the Gunners that saw Mikel Arteta, Thomas Vermaelen, Gervinho and Robin Van Persie score in a DW Stadium thrashing. This fixture has a tendency to do funny things to goalkeepers. Two seasons ago it was Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski whose 90th-minute blunder stripped Arsenal of resurrected title chances, and Arsène Wenger of his suit jacket. This time it was Wigan's Ali Al-Habsi with the error-strewn display.Arsenal eased past Wigan Athletic as they get all three points and continue their unbeaten run, in the English Premier League.

Make no mistake, in the initial part of the game I was a little bit concerned with what was going on back there in the defensive department, especially on the wings as both Laurent Koscielny and Andre Santos made mistakes that other teams would have maybe punished us for but after we settled down it was smooth sailing as we registered our eight win in the Premier League and move up to 5th in the table.
Incidentally, I cannot remember the last time we scored two goals in the first half of a game so this win not only allows us to continue our unbeaten run in the domestic league but it will surely inject more confidence in our players.

Cotto vs Margarito 2 results: Miguel batters Antonio's injured eye en route to TKO stoppage
Miguel Cotto wanted his revenge over Antonio Margarito, and in the wee hours of Sunday morning at Madison Square Garden, he got it.
Cotto dominated his adversary, peppering him with powerful combinations and targeting the surgically-repaired right eye of Margarito. Right as the bell rang for the tenth round, doctors from the New York State Athletic Commission advised referee Steve Smoger to stop the fight, and he did. Cotto earned the 37th win of his career against just two losses, and of course avenged the controversial loss to Margarito back in 2008. Margarito fell to 38-8.Miguel Cotto boxed brilliantly tonight, and did as he promised: He targeted Antonio Margarito's bad right eye, and after nine rounds of largely one-sided action that did see Margarito press relentlessly, Cotto avenged his 2008 defeat at Margarito's hands, as doctors advised referee Steve Smoger to stop the fight.
Cotto was up 89-82 on the Bad Left Hook scorecard at the time of stoppage. After three years of controversy and a savage war of words, Miguel Cotto finally got a second crack at rival Antonio Margarito last night (Sat., Dec. 3, 2011) in New York, with every intention of proving that without the aid of plaster, the Mexican bruiser is simply no match for him.
Color me convinced.
Much like in the first bout, Cotto used his speed and technique advantage to full effect in the early going, battering the lumbering Margarito relentlessly with brutal combos.
The difference this time around was that he didn’t stop.Watch here http://boxing.getliveon.com/ Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito live online boxing video on Saturday, December, 3rd, 2011 from the Madison Square Garden NYC, New York.

The visitors were always in control, but James Collins might have snatched a point when his late header was tipped over by Anders Lindegaard.Manchester United's Phil Jones (left) scores the opening goal against Aston Villa. Photograph: Ian Kington/AFP/Getty Images
One goal was again enough to secure three points for Manchester United and keep them within touching distance of their neighbours at the top of the table, but this victory could have loosened their grip on the Champions League. United travel to Basel in midweek needing to avoid defeat to stay in the competition and they are likely to be without Javier Hernández, who was carried off on a stretcher at Villa Park after collapsing in pain as he sought to dart away from his marker. "I think he's torn ligaments in his ankle, so he could be out for four weeks," said Sir Alex Ferguson, whose offensive options already exclude Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen.

DeSean Jackson Post Game Interview Frustrated With Losing
DeSean Jackson is playing his way out of Philadelphia and quoting Drew Rosenhaus when confronted by reporters.
In the Eagles latest loss in Seattle, Jackson was seen not running out routes and seeming ignoring Vince Young when he was confronted by Young on the sidelines.
But the incident that is bothering some observers is how Jackson reacted when Eagles’ defensive back Nnamdi Asomugha lay motionless on the field after a scary head injury.SEATTLE - DeSean Jackson was peppered with questions about whether he was refusing to talk with teammates on the sideline. Embattled coach Andy Reid was asked if his team was even invested at this point of the season and if Jackson was essentially a decoy.
Welcome to a new low in Philadelphia's miserable season.
"It's ridiculous to have this much talent and be where we are," Philadelphia offensive lineman Evan Mathis said.
Marshawn Lynch bulled through the Eagles for 148 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns and the Seattle Seahawks rolled past the Eagles 31-14 on Thursday night, Philadelphia's fourth loss in five games. The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of individual talent but they clearly can't play as a team and that was visible when Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch ran into the Eagles defensive line where it seems like every Philly defender converged until we saw Lynch pop out the other side and scamper in for a 15-yard touchdown. Head coach Andy Reid was questioned several times about this play, and whether the effort was there, but Reid couldn't give an answer for his team's 31-14 loss to the Seahawks.

Happy Birthday Britney Spears (2011)
In celebration of Pop Queen Britney Spears’ 30th birthday, her biggest fansite BreatheHeavy uploaded a never-before heard song titled “Love 2 Love U.” The Latin tinged urban-pop number definitely sounds like it was recorded during Britney’s ‘Britney’/'In The Zone’ era.ot so long ago there were fears that Britney wouldn’t even make it to her 30th birthday, with her mental health coming under scrutiny, thanks to several worrying incidents.
But the pop starlet has thankfully reached the milestone birthday today, although she probably won’t be celebrating by swigging any champers – she’s more of a coffee and Coke kind of girl these days. Happily settled with boyfriend Jason Trawick, the two are rumoured to be discussing marriage and possibly a baby.
There are two things fans can always count on from Britney Spears: A chart-topping dance song, and a super sexy concert getup!
The pop star, who turns 30 today, has come a long way since her schoolgirl days and after two kids, a public meltdown, and a string of bad relationships, Britney is back on her A-game and looking better than ever.

Lady Gaga debuts (long) 'Marry The Night' video
Clocking in at nearly 14 minutes, Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night" video, directed by the Mother Monster herself, is a music video within a short film.
Gaga teased earlier that the clip would be about the worst day of her life, and it certainly touches on some nefarious stuff. With references to everything from "Fame" and "Black Swan" to "The Bell Jar," the video is a sweeping look into Gaga's psyche. Got a spare 14 minutes? Then check this out.
See Gaga in a hospital bed, see Gaga give new meaning to ballet toe shoes, see her speak French, she her topless and covered in Cheerios, and more, including a fiery ending and a rockin' song.
Lady Gaga, who directed the video, told E! News Marry The Night is her most personal video yet, an autobiographical tale showing what she calls "one of the worst days of my life."
And that day would be?Lady Gaga seemed to explode onto the pop scene like a brilliantly deranged firework from the great beyond. The world was presented with an eccentric enigma, a suddenly transformed NYU student whose creative foresight and visions set new standards for the staid music culture. But as much as she became a phenomenon, the question remained: where did she come from? How did she go from playing in bars to the wildest, most successful act on the planet?

Grammy nominations: West deserves shot with album
Why did Adele only get six Grammy nominations when rappers get seven or 10 every year? She was robbed!
—Mark, via the inbox
Just because "Rolling in the Deep" was, apparently, the only song released, ever, does not mean that the industry has "robbed" Adele, darling. In fact, I can prove that Adele got about as much Grammy love as she could possibly get...Kanye West probably smashed up his dressing room real good on Wednesday night.
For someone who typically throws a tantrum at the first sign of a perceived award-show slight, the temperamental rapper for once had legitimate reason to get bent out of shape while watching the live CBS concert announcing the nominees for the 54th annual Grammy Awards.
Even though he walked away with seven nods - more than any other artist - West's critically heralded "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" got snubbed in the big category: album of the year.
In this theater publicity image released by Boneau/Bryan-Brown, Andrew Rannells (c.) performs with an ensemble cast in "The Book of Mormon" at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York. The Broadway cast recordings of "The Book of Mormon," "Anything Goes" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" each earned Grammy nominations Wednesday night, an eclectic group of musicals that are still going strong.
